I already miss the prenatal appointments - they were so much fun and the relaxing, caring atmosphere and ease of conversation made my pregnancy seem so natural and easy.

   
  ARTICLE 1. The name of the Association is The Wisconsin Guild of Midwives.

ARTICLE 2. The period of existence shall be perpetual.

ARTICLE 3. The purposes shall be: 
A. To expand communications and to build support among Wisconsin midwives. 
B. To support the established guidelines of the CPM educational model of training of midwives and to assist in the development of midwifery programs in Wisconsin.
C. To promote midwifery as a quality health care option for women and their families.
D. To promote research and information in the field of midwifery care.
E. To establish channels of communication between midwives and other professional and consumer groups concerned with the health of women and their families in maternity care.

ARTICLE 4. The principal office is located in Rock County, Wisconsin; the address of such office is: Wisconsin Guild of Midwives

ARTICLE 5. Membership provisions will be set forth in the by-laws.

ARTICLE 6. The names and addresses of the initial officers are:

ARTICLE 7. Provisions for Regulation and Conduct of the Affairs of the Association will be contained in the By-Laws of the association.

ARTICLE 8. Other Provisions 
A. The Association shall he a not-for-profit association organized and operated exclusively for education and communication purposes so that no part of any income earnings, or contributions to the association shall inure to the benefit of any individual. 
B. The Association shall exercise only such powers which are in accord with the not-for-profit tax exempt status of the Association and those which may be exercised by an organization exempt under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and its Regulations as they now exist or may be hereafter amended, and by an organization contributions to which are deductible under Section 170(c)(2) of such Code and Regulations, 
C. In the event of dissolution of the association, the assets shall be distributed only to similar organizations which enjoy exemption under Section 501(c)(3). 
D. Any and all moneys, properties, and things of value received by the association shall be directed toward furthering the Purposes of the Guild of Wisconsin Midwives.
