The Friends of Wisconsin Midwives (FOWM) is a citizen-based
organization unified in support of midwifery as the best model
of care for low-risk pregnancy, birth, and well-woman care. FOWM
works to give citizens the right to choose midwfery care in all
birth settings by educating the public about midwifery and access
to midwifery care; encouraging communication among citizens,
midwives and healthcare provider; and informing the public of
current and on-going policy and legislative issues concerning
the midwifery community in Wisconsin
