I have been involved
in the art and practice of Midwifery for a lifetime. My
mother (Virginia (Ginnie) Priest) has been at the forefront
of Midwifery issues and care in Wisconsin since its "come
back" in the early 70's. I have practiced as a primary
care provider since 1991 and now serve my community in
Northern Wisconsin (Ashland, WI). I also offer my services
to midwives around the state as a fill-in and/or a back-up
midwife.
A safe and satisfying childbirth experience provides an
excellent foundation for taking on the responsibilities
of parenthood. We have more information now than ever before
about how to have a safe and healthy birth. Weighing the
information, making sense of complex issue, thinking about
your values and preferences, and putting your care arrangements
into place may take time and effort. But it is worth it!
